DDS in 2009, PhD in 2014, and dr. odont in 2018 from University of Copenhagen. Currently holds a position as associate professor at Department of Odontology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Primary research area is to use contemporary molecular methods for characterization of the salivary microbiota and salivary inflammatory markers in oral health and disease. The aim is to evaluate the potential of using salivary biomarkers for identification of oral and systemic diseases at preclinical stages of disease. Current projects are carried out in collaboration with high profile national and international research institutions including Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (Singapore), Forsyth Institute, Harvard School of Dental Medicine (Boston, USA), University of Turku (Finland), Costerton Biofilm Center and the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Center for Protein Research (Copenhagen, Denmark).
