Fena Ochs

Associate Professor

Fena Ochs received her Ph.D. in 2018 from the Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for Protein Research at the University of Copenhagen. Her doctoral dissertation under supervision of Prof Jiri Lukas described a novel role for the tumour suppressor 53BP1 in control of homology-directed repair and identified a tight interconnection between 3D chromatin organization and the DNA damage response. Dr. Ochs joined the laboratory of Prof Kim Nasmyth at the University of Oxford in 2019, where her research illuminated the role of cohesin complexes in 3D chromatin organization. Fena’s background is in cutting-edge microscopy technologies, including high-content and live-3D-Structured Illumination super-resolution microscopy. In 2023, Fena was appointed Associate Professor and group leader at BRIC.
